Team Member Receives Prestigious Research Award
January 20, 2026
NYPAC Institute is delighted to announce that one of our team members has received the Outstanding Early Career Researcher Award from the American Public Health Association (APHA). This prestigious recognition honors exceptional contributions to public health research by investigators within the first ten years of their careers.
The award recognizes significant contributions to cancer prevention research, including innovative work on addressing health disparities in breast cancer screening among immigrant populations. The research has led to the development of culturally tailored interventions that have been adopted by community health centers throughout the region.
'This recognition reflects the collaborative spirit of our entire team,' said Dr. Gorin. 'We are committed to mentoring the next generation of public health researchers and are proud to see their work receiving national recognition.'
The award will be presented at the APHA Annual Meeting, where the recipient will also deliver a featured presentation on their research findings.
